Mixing Fashion with Fun!

Putting a bingo spin on wardrobe mix-and-matches

With Fall fast approaching, we’re bound to see new styles coming to life. You’ve probably been excited for all the new trends since the Fall/Winter Fashion Week from earlier this year, stunned by the styles of luminaries Alexander Wang, Diane von Fürstenberg and Michael Kors, and can’t wait to start dressing up in Fall/Winter trends.

Here’s an idea for those looking to keep the fun going as we transition into the new season: hold your own personal fashion mini-shows! Essentially a wardrobe mix-and-match given a bingo twist, all you and your friends would need are personal fashion items, numbered pieces of paper with something to randomly draw them from, and a working knowledge of bingo’s gameplay basics.

Called wardrobe bingo, the game was introduced last year by online clothing shop Boohoo.com to various fashionista bloggers as a fun challenge of sorts to come up with the most interesting ensemble combinations.
To play the game, you must first gather at least five pieces of clothing for each of the four major fashion groups: tops, bottoms, footwear, and accessories. You numerically label each piece accordingly, and then proceed to the actual “bingo” part of the game where you draw numbers for each clothing group. Sure, less-than-tasteful mishmashes are to be expected, but chances are, you might just end up with a few pleasant surprises. ;)

The fun of the game is in ending up with a combo of clothes which you otherwise wouldn’t have thought of assembling together in the first place. And fun, after all, is what bingo is all about.
Bingo is the sort of activity that’s more social than it is competitive; and it’s this fun and energetic aspect that companies in the bingo industry emphasize in their marketing. Gaming Realms, operators of award-winning bingo portal Iceland Bingo, have said that because there seems to be a higher demand for social games, “Facebook will see substantial traction in growing mobile usage in the coming years,” and this has prompted many bingo operators to look into expanding into social media as well.

In the end, it’s all about just injecting a bit more fun to your favorite activities. Like a good fashion accessory that goes with almost everything, bingo can provide that extra fun you’re looking for.

So what are you waiting for? Get started with your very own Fashion Bingo & let us know how it goes! :)

Till next time,
